Hi everyone,
Welcome to the penultimate week of the October challenge.
It’s amazing how fast time flies, we are already in the third week of the second month. For this third week of the Challenge, we propose you some RESTORATIVE YOGA postures that open the CHEST area, this area is also linked to the shoulder.
A little reminder though, the practice of RESTORATIVE YOGA consists in opening up, not stretching!
A quick recap of this past month:
- Week 5: Static arm stretches
- Week 6: Dynamic stretching of the arms and shoulders
Following last month’s practice, we have had very good feedback on the Restorative Yoga practice and it has done you a world of good!
That’s why we are offering you new exercises this month :).
We have already seen together :
- Creating a calm environment for relaxation and restorative yoga.
- Breathing is our main tool for living in the present moment.
- Introduction to meditation.
- The importance of slowing down during the day.
- The main postures of Restorative Yoga.
We invite you again to take at least 20 minutes out of your week to relax with Restorative Yoga. The more time you spend, the more relaxed you will become and the deeper the posture will be.
Use last month’s article as inspiration to prepare a calm environment for the practice.

New exercise: Discover your AURA
We would also like to introduce you to another exercise that will help you to get to know yourself better. You know by now that we like activities with physical contact and that we also like little games to get to know yourself better, to connect with yourself.
The Aura exercise
Convincing ourselves that something as subtle as the AURA exists, in a world where we have been taught to believe only in what we can touch or see ( MATERIAL ), is complicated.
Thus, we tend to think that people who claim to be able to perceive the subtle bodies, the Aura, are illuminated in the jar. It is difficult for our western minds, which are generally very hermetic, to get used to the idea.
Why would some have this ability and others not?
Well, it seems that everything here is a matter of practice and acceptance. If we want to progress, we must remain open and persistent. Persevering, because years of silencing our instincts, isolating ourselves from our inner self, building walls between our deepest and our social selves, will not evaporate in a second.
With this little exercise, we will try to awaken a part of ourselves and unravel our beliefs.
FEEL YOUR AURA
You will need: a yoga mat and no DISTRACTIONS, your phone stays out of the room.
- Take time for yourself in a quiet place, where you can be alone with yourself, only.
- Lie down on the carpet, close your eyes and relax.
- Take two deep breaths to relax.
Then :
- Place your hands about 3 centimetres from your eyes. Your hands should be somewhat dome-shaped.
- Concentrate on the sensations in your hands: tingling, warmth, stiffness, trembling
- Stay like this for 2-3 minutes before repeating it on your heart and then on your stomach.
If you do this exercise regularly, you will pay more and more attention to the sensations and energy. You will become more and more sensitive. In time, you will be able to detect blockages in the flow of these energies.
We advise you to try this exercise this week to discover the magic within you! Keep up the momentum with dynamic or static arm stretches every day.
- At least 5 minutes, at best 10!
- And also add 20 minutes of restorative yoga per week.
- Exercise AURA once or twice a week
