Welcome to this last Restorative Yoga workshop!
We dedicate this last month of the challenge to stretching the LEGS – HIPS & HIPS. For this 3rd week of the month of the LEGS, we would like to share with you two new Restorative Yoga postures.
What we have learned in Restorative Yoga
Last months, we had seen together
And this week we will see exercises for the legs.
As usual, we recommend that you make time for yourself in your week. 10 to 20 minutes a day. Before going to sleep can be a good idea, as it will make your sleep more restful!

Restorative yoga postures of the week
Feet up to the wall
This posture is beneficial for many reasons;
- Reason 1: The blood that is in your legs for most of the day is now flowing in the opposite direction, towards your heart. The oxygen supply increases towards the lymphatic system thanks to the venous return favored by this posture. This position soothes varicose veins and swelling of the feet as well as oxygenating the cells.
- Reason 2: This position relaxes the muscles, relieves the cervical and lumbar vertebrae, and calms the nervous system. In this position, tension is gradually reduced and helps to relax. This posture relieves stress and tension and promotes a good night’s sleep.
- Reason 3: To breathe better; in this position, we open the chest, which benefits the respiratory system. The rib cage widens, the lungs open and the heart area is exposed.
Butterfly with support
With this posture, the opening of the hips is worked on as well as the emotions! The perfect posture for stressful events. This posture is known to have great emotional healing power. This posture is the representation of the “golden foetus” or “golden womb” which is the source of the universe.
Meditation – the friend of Restorative Yoga
Meditation is not an exercise that requires intellect. It is about connecting (or reconnecting) to what is going on inside ourselves. We are more used to looking in the mirror than in the eyes of others. We are more concerned with other people’s approval of our outward appearance and forget to look at ourselves inside…
We have spent much of our lives doing something other than being present to what is happening right now.
When you take your first steps into meditation, you may find that it can be a difficult practice.
We have chosen restorative yoga because it facilitates relaxation, we have everything we need to be comfortable in restorative yoga and it gives us a solid foundation for meditation.
The mind is used to meditate on the future or the past, but we need to retrain it to come back to the present.
We hope you enjoy your little restorative session to the full, you so deserve it! <3
Let’s sum up the essence of this challenge in two steps
